Website under construction
A promise kept, and a greyhound honoured
It might seem a little unusual to find a page dedicated to a greyhound on an art and jewellery website, but there’s a very good reason. The idea was actually a request from my mum, Liz.
She was always a huge source of encouragement and support in all things creative. Over a decade ago, I mentioned that I might one day make an online gallery (and yes, it has taken me more than ten years to actually bring it to life). My mum thought it was a really nice idea, but she had one special request, "If I created a website, please could Dart have his own page?”
Although I didn't realise it at the time, in hindsight I suspect that she requested this, as she knew understood what lay ahead for her health. Knowing quietly and completely, that Dart was the last greyhound she would welcome into her life.

So, some years later, here we are:
I've finally got round to building this website. Better late than never I guess, although I'm sad to say, not in time for Mum and Dart to see it. But I'm happy that in the end my Mum got her wish, and Dart now has the digital spotlight he always deserved.
Northam Burrows was a favourite walking spot.
After hiking across the beach, carefully hobbling over the pebbles, and meandering back over the burrows, we’d often stop for a cuppa and a bite to eat.
Dart was rather fond of biscuits - and he never let us forget it!
My mum offered a loving home to lots of dogs (and other animals) over the years. She got her first rescue dog, a collie-cross, when she was just three years old. Dart was the last rescue dog she owned. He was a retired racer, rehomed after his working days were over.
Dart had a very sweet, gentle nature and would always slow his walking pace, or stop if my mum (or I) needed a little break mid-walk.
Before my Mum got Dart, other rescue greyhounds enjoyed their walks along the North Devon coast too.
